This series (in process) will contain the complete works of Kierkegaard in 28 volumes with 27 volumes of commentary, and is due to be completed in 2011. It contains everything that Kierkegaard wrote, both the works which he himself had published and the works which he wished to be published after his death or left unfinished. In addition to these there are his journals, notebooks, and loose papers along with letters and biographical documents. Thus, this is an edition which collects what has until now been published in three separate editions, Samlede Værker, Papirer, and Breve og Aktstykker. All of the works mentioned at D. Anthony Storm's Commentary On Kierkegaard's Writings are numbered according to this edition.
  • Søren Kierkegaards Samlede Værker [Søren Kierkegaard's Collected Works] (14 volumes)

  • Søren Kierkegaard's Journals and Papers (7 volumes)
Hong, H. V. and Edna H. Hong edd., assisted by G. Malantschuk, index by N. Hong and C. Barker. Indiana University Press, 1967-78. Currently, this is the closest thing we have to the complete journals in English.
  • S. Kierkegaards Bladartikler med Bilag samlede efter Forfatterens Død, udgivne som Supplement til hans øvrige Skrifter [S. Kierkegaard's Newspaper Articles, with an appendix collected after the Author's Death: Published as a Supplement to His Other Writings]

This work pays great attention to the social and political context of Kierkegaard's Denmark, devoting the first half of the work to this essential groundwork. It is not quite a biography, but is more of an analysis of SK's later works in their political context. It also refutes some of the well-worn conclusions of Lowrie et al on Kierkegaard's relationship with his father and Regine Olsen. This is an essential work for historical research.
